Chapter 1 (Cassiopeia)

What to use:

1 or more pieces of fabric (1 square meter in all)
2 pieces of 6 mm. carbon-fiber  sticks (165 cm.).
3 m. dacron.
2 m.Mesh Sreening. (6 cm. width)
6 keyrings  (15 mm.).
1 m. 6 mm. rubber tube (stout)
5 m. control-lines.
10 rivets.

NOTE!! If you find it confusing that not all photos are of the same kite through out this guidance, you can always go back to the first page and take a look of the 3 kites in the back.

How to cut
Take your template and place it on top of your fabric, use a pencil to draw along the edge, then cut the fabric, remember to add the trimmings described on the template. Now sow the pieces together, using the known showing techniques.
Remember the double pleat.
Your on going kite should now look similar to the picture below.

Fold as shown in the picture.

Wing strengthening
Take the template and put it on top of a piece of dacron - the template should be placed on the dacron, so the marked tip is covering it - draw around the template. Now cut the dacron using a solder pen. Then sow the piece of dacron on the back of the wing-tip.


Sow together the wings
Take the two wings and sow them together, the pleat must be on the back of the wings.


Folding the top
The top edge must now be folded to the back of the kite (5 mm).
