Probably under impression of Charles Brogden, who regurlarly won the competitions of the British Royal Aeronautical Society, Cody developed in 1903 a kite similar to Brogden's kite. Remarkable the typical Cody topsail and the form of spreaders and wings. It is not known, if this kite has ever had a sucessfull flight (except those to take pictures). For me it looks very interesting. I hope that I soon can present a plan of this kite.
