Hemming the sail is probably the hardest sewing job.  To make this easier use 3M double sides sticky tape.  Simply double fold over the edges so what the edge line of the kite becomes the actual edge. Use the tape or glue to hold the hem in place.  You should start with the two outer hems first as they are the easiest.  Be sure to fold the hem to the back side of the kite so it is not visible when flying.

 

Be careful to insert the Dacron reinforcement while hemming.  Not that when you hem the center you will need to cut the material so that the hem can hold in either side.

 

Then sew straight stitches around the edge of the reinforcement as indicated in red.
