Jim Davis' Optic Rocket |
Many kites built today come about by accident, by combining two
different kites; or perhaps by seeing a picture or object and deciding it could
be a kite; maybe by wanting a kite made decades ago and no longer available.
Many times a kite maker will want the kite to fly in different conditions than
the original or just want to tweak a kite. Jim Davis' OPTIC ROCKET is a variation
of Paul Morgan's "Harlequin” box kite from England. Jim Davis
taught his OPTIC ROCKET at one of the first Ft. Worden's we
attended. We have made any number of them since and have sized the little Ft.
Worden model up. With his permission, here are our plans of Jim's kite, in PDF format. A new window will open. |
