Line adjuster
If your lines
aren't exectly the same length, these line adjusters might come in handy...
Construction
Here's how to do it:
- Two pieces of bridle line ~ 2' (60cm) ( one for each handle).
- Doublefold the line, finish of the ends with a overhand knot.
- Attach to the clip with a larks head (or the handles if no clip is used).
- Make two pigtails ~ 2" (5cm) from another piece of bridle line, finish of
the ends with a overhand knot or 8 knot. Strong knot is needed here since this
is to become the towpoint where the sleeved loops from the lines will be
attached.
- Attach the pigtails to the long bridlelines with a Prusik not.
- Fold the long bridle lines ~ the middle
- Use something to hold the bridle line folded, I've used a sort of tube
which is common in electronic euqp, when it's heated it shrinks, it's used to
isolate the ends of wires. I think that a common rubber band also would do the
the trick.
Now all one has to do to equalize the lines is to slide the
loose end of the long bridle lines up, adjust the pigtail up or down on the
bridle line and slide the lose end back towards the handles again so that the
pigtail is in the middle again. As long as the bridle line is keept folded the
Prusik knot wont slide
