Sled Kite - beginner

You don't need any snow to build this awesome sled kite. After some simple steps you'll be soaring the skies in no time!

Materials

MATERIALS:
plastic garbage bag
wood sticks - 2 @ 24" long - bamboo 1/8"
tape (cloth)
1 hobby stick for fly line
string - 30 feet or more (packaging type)

TOOLS:
scissors
ruler (yard stick)
magic markers (permanent)
pencil/pen
hole punch

REMEMBER THAT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ALWAYS WORK UNDER ADULT SUPERVISION. SOMETIMES WE USE THINGS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL, LIKE SCISSORS, SO DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO MAKE THESE PROJECTS ALONE.

Instructions

  1. Lay plastic bag flat (folded in half) and cut out kite.
  2. Open folding plastic sheet, and do your art decorating. Place sticks on kite sail and tape to sail at each end.
  3. Place tape strips on corners of sail to re-enforce bridle holes, and punch holes to attach bridle.
  4. Cut a piece of string 60'' long - attach in each hole. Make a loop in center of bridle.
  5. Cut 25 feet or more of string and wind onto hobby stick. Attach fly line to loop in bridle and tie on with 2 overhand knots. Make tails and place.
